Easy Hockey Stop Drill

This is an easy way to learn the hockey stop. Try this drill stationary and then with some speed. Make sure you use both feet, inside edge of the leading foot, and outside edge of the trailing foot. For more lessons and courses check out The Pond

the most important thing for me to learn it, was understanding that i have to have the weight on the front of the blades, and when you bend your knees you automatically put weight to the front of the skates

Finally got to try this out on the ice in London today. Before I was turning sharp and the edges would just dig in, with this drill they're now breaking away and I'm starting to slide properly. Amazing. Best bit of hockey stop information on youtube. Can't thank you enough Jeremy. :)

Listen when I say this, this is hands down the best video explaining how to do a hockey stop. NO ONE explains that you want to lift on your toes instead of just shifting your hips lifting my toes alone allowed me to it it. I thank you soo much😭💪🏽

This actually helped me a lot. I’ve understood for a while how to shave ice with the inside edges but not how to pivot both feet at the same time. Solid tip. I can stop at slower speeds to my dominant side now.
