Emma, when you feel down, want to give up, upset by nasty people commenting. Rise above it. You have already said you're not an expert, who is, we are learning all the time. But you know a lot more than you did when you started. And if you still have doubts, go back and watch the first video of your new plot and see just how far you have come. It's amazing. Emma, IMHO, You are growing so much in confidence and self-belief. Honestly beautiful to watch. As if I know what I am talking about!!! One wee thought... could you get in contact with a local farm selling well- rotted manure. As part of the allotment community you could club together and get a huge delivery. Your soil looks in desperate need of organic matter. Amazing that you've achieved what you have with this soil. Amazing. Love what you are doing. Don't ever be disheartened. Big pat on the back you. Hello Emma
You plot is absolutely beautiful mixing all the flowers with your vegetables. It’s so awarding to clean up vegi beds. It just so satisfying when you look back at all the work you have put into you beds. So with your carrot rows it would pull all the seed weeds that have come up close to your carrots just be gentle maybe give a good watering then pull them up will be much better when the soils is wet. Because in my experience when I had left the weeds around all my carrot they stunted my carrots growth and the weeds roots I twin with the carrots roots, and can steal some nutrients they the carrots will need to grow big and strong. So I’ve always kept my carrots cleared, and had a great harvest from them all. Just my thoughts that I just wanted to share with you. Hope your having a great rest of your day. Hi Emma Love your allotment diaries. It is always fun watching you plant and interact with Einstein. You have inspired me to reorganise my vegetable raised beds this year. Winter here in West Aussie so just starting the clean up of the veggie garden.

Emma congrats on your first harvest! The entire time you were harvesting I kept hearing your voice from your planting vids. You"d say "I don't know what I'm doing" and "it"ll probably all die anyway". Well I'm here to say you were wrong on both accounts. It all looks super smashing! I intermingle flowers and veg all the time. I might have gone overboard with the nasturtiums this year!😂😂

I love your new dahlia! The dark leaves are my favorite. I have one with apricot color flowers.
It’s a great idea to plant flowers with the veg. It attracts pollinators. Veg need pollinators too!😊
