Why You Shouldn’t Restart Your Island | Animal Crossing New Horizons

Should you reset your animal crossing island to prepare for the 2.0 update? In this video, I go over the reasons why you shouldn't reset your island — unless you want more work for yourself.

In the end, how you play the game is up to you. I am not bashing your decision to reset your game.

These are all my own opinions.

I think I'll restart because like many people I've rushed through the game when it first came out. I like how you can take it slow in acnh, and I feel like I'd experience the update better if I worked hard for it over time instead of spending all my bells on day 1 and getting it all done in a week.

I would never reset but if there was a feature for more than one island I would 100% use that because it would be really nice to create loads and loads of landscapes. Maybe you get a new island but you dont need to do the story again. The islands would only be available after beating the game.

I have worked way too hard on the island of got, there’s no way I’m resetting, plus I don’t want to go through the grueling task of having to pay off all of those loans again

For me, there’s no incentive whatsoever to reset my island. It still needs a lot of work, and I have over a million Nook Miles to spend. And with this update and new items, my island going to be legendary!

Resetti should pop up on your new island if you restart it. Its such a missed oportunity-

If he did pop up he should probably say this:

"You...restarted your island..?? That's even worse than resetting! Well... i hope you have fun playing AGAIN, i guess.."

Now that I saw this video I won't restart my island for sure! An other incentive to not reset for me is that I would be so sad to view my 1000+ screenshots or my current 1200+ hour island if I deleted it, I made so many memories on my virtual island and I don't want to make all of them "bittersweet"!

I hate even the thought of reseting my island and losing all the items, diys, villagers etc so I'll never do that, but I started to flatten it today, because I realised that my island had 100 different aesthetics like kidcore, cottagecore, fairycore, urban, and it was just a mess. It's really a refreshing start and better than reseting (i'm thinking about fairycore with an urban twist)

I definitely won't reset my island, I will however be creating a brand new island on the oled switch which I will have for Christmas. I can't wait to able to start again on my new oled switch but also do all the new exciting things on my og switch. Eventually I will add more to the new island as I will be purchasing the dlc for both consoles. Two Christmas's this year 5/11 and 25/12😃

I’ve CONSIDERED resetting, just cause I didn’t want to have to think about where to put the new stuff and take down areas, but I didn’t want to go through grinding again and getting used to the lay out. If I had a second switch maybe I’d consider it but yeah you had a good lot of points!!

I won't resent my island, I have so many miles and I really wanna enjoy the game, so Im just flattening my island 💖. i already finished my island and didn't had anything else to do, so I'll just flatten it.

If you reset your island make sure you have friends who play as well because you can give them any valuable items you want to take to your next island after the reset. Craft diy recipes you love and give them the items etc. Give them ALL your bells to so they can keep them then give them back.
