He learned the Boba Fett effect. That was a hugely needed part, even if at the time he got surprised by how big the movie was so the part wasn't as big as thought it might be.
He did character perfectly and it made Casey's part of the movie work, wouldn't have worked if Timothee didn't pull it off with his part.

his part was crucial to the story. I remember seeing him and being like.. that kid is going places.

Even a minor role in a huge movie like Interstellar is a great accomplishment…
You beat out hundreds of people for 1 part!!! And now you can add it to your resume and other casting agents are going to love that. They will fully acknowledge and take into consideration the experience you gained from working beside Christopher Nolan and other A-list actors. There’s no need to cry at all. There’s thousands of people who would kill to have an even smaller part with just 1 line.

Casey Affleck was phenomenal in this recently I saw the special screening of Interstellar and I wept at the scenes Casey tells him about his life through tapes. He played the part of a broken man protecting his family flawlessly.

Timothee played a really good part for the short amount of screen time he got. He set it up perfectly for Casey Affleck to step into. Both actors that played the kids definitely showed what they were made of.

Over time, as he continues to grow, he will realize (he probably already has) that he owes a lot of his success to this role and Nolan. He was really great in Dune though. He's going places

I think he should be in another Nolan movie

When a young potential future Oscar winner gets a tiny small role in a Nolan movie, you understand how magnificent the cast actually is. Christopher Nolan is a genius director. In this era of CGI slambang with no space for actual acting, it's no wonder that real actors would be grateful to get the tiniest of tiny roles in a Nolan movie, perhaps the last great director currently. Many actors would do it for free.

I’d imagine so many people got into Hollywood because of Nolan. He’s one of those names like Tarantino and Spielberg who inspire generations of actors and directors. When I first saw Batman Begins, I watched it almost every weekend until my parents let me watch The Dark Knight. Then I watched The Dark Knight almost every weekend until The Dark Knight rises released on DVD.

The scene where Tom says goodbye to his dad really struck me. Murph is throwing a tantrum and being a kid, but Tom is also not an adult and trying to be mature and be strong, even though his heart is also breaking for "losing" yet another parent. Timmy portrayed that feeling perfectly, even if it was 10 sec of screentime. It really moved me. I wish I could tell him that.

He was definitely still a kid, I remember feeling bummed out after watching Fury Road when I was 15, mainly because I had some crazy preconceived notion that it would be more narrative driven.
I got over it very quickly and it's still one of my favorite action films of all time.
Cute to see this sensitive side to him.

You can't help it man, as much as I feel for Timothee here, he was going up against all time greats here. He did extremely well, and that led to Dune which is what I think his true potential come to life. He has been excellent.

So many filmmakers have cited seeing star wars as what got them into film, but I think that the dark knight is going to come out as the one that inspired a new generation of film fans. Its definitely what got me into film, too.

Timothy Chalamet was absolutely amazing he played that part brilliantly - young character carrying more than a parent would like them to have to, but bravely doing so & showing a quiet but unassailable smallish part perhaps but that is an enormous movie
