How to get rid of dark circles

We are all looking for a magical cream to completely get rid of dark circles. But unfortunately, it is not possible. To improve dark circles , we need to first know what the causes are:

▪️tear trough : groove under the eyes can make dark circles appear more prominent

▪️sunken eyes : hollow eyes where eyes are deep set gives a shadow effect on the underye making it appear darker

▪️darkening of skin : there can be increased melanin in the skin in undereye area

▪️prominent veins : if skin is thin, the vessels can look prominent giving a bluish effect

▪️wrinkling : as we age, dark circles can look more prominent due to fine lines and wrinkles

▪️excessive rubbing : this increases darkness and wrinkling around the eyes

▪️allergies : atopic dermatitis, allergic sinusitis can make the dark circles worse

Can dark circles disappear completely ? No
We can improve the appearance

✅Treatment modalities :
▪️Creams to address concern which contain skin lightening agents
▪️Chemical peels : by cause gentle exfoliation, we can reduce the darkening under the eyes
▪️Laser to reduce darkening : q switched NdYAG laser can be used in lower setting to improve appearance.
▪️PRP for platelet rich plasma treatment to improve quality of under eye skin
▪️Hyaluronic acid filler in the tear trough to correct the groove and hollowness.
