GaN is gallium nitride. It's an alternate material to silicon that's able to achieve the same amount of power delivery in a smaller package.

I wouldnt recommend that kind of knife and watch carrier if you fly. Being in the military these days you travel by air a lot. On two separate occasions I had knives taken out of the interior pocket of my checked bag, I know other service members that have experienced the same. I eventually stopped taking expensive knives on trips and the ones I did take I packed in my boots with socks and underwear to keep them from falling out.

I flew to Japan for 3 weeks with a carry-on and a 20 L backpack. My wife and daughter also rocked a similar setup. We did check one of the bags, so I did get to bring a knife(I think it has to be under 6cm for Japan). You pack a ton of stuff, which is cool if you are going by car, but way too much if you are traversing airports and connecting trains all over the place. I also am a duffel bag man, but when I saw how people use rolling carry-on luggage as part of their day to day routine the first time i visited Japan about 17 years ago, I have to say I was converted. Now whenever I am getting on an airplane I don't even consider my duffle, unless its packed in my luggage for overflow. Thanks for the videos!

I carry plastic outlet inserts to help with loose outlets while traveling or in coffee shops. I also have the Anker plug/PowerBank combo that is quite heavy as well and the outlet inserts are great for that as well. Great vid as always!

Im a long time user of Black Hole duffels from Patagonia. From deployments to surf trips to family vacations they are rugged, waterproof & have held up well. The most glaring thing missing is a separate wet/boot pocket! Such a simple element that makes a huge difference! Great lookin bag, congrats on the collab!!

I see a lot of suggestions for a Dopp kit, and here is what I have used for several years. I have a RedOxx Nomad Shave Kit. It is made in Montana, USA. It has one main compartment and two flatter side pockets. It has plenty of space, but if you can reduce your carry, it will squish into less space, so it does not waste a lot of room. It rides in the middle compartment of my Air Boss. By the way the Air Boss comes with a Claw Non-slip Shoulder Strap. It really is nonslip. I got an extra one for another unrelated small bag. They also have a newer version strap but I don't have any familiarity with it. The Air Boss would be my version of Taylor's Heat Straps duffel. It is designed for carry-on, but I have also checked it many times. Lifetime guarantee.
For water bottles, I prefer a RevoMax as my vacuum bottle, as I do not have to screw on any caps. For questionable water sources I take a Grayl UltraPress Titanium. My daughter took the latter to Mexico, but the tap water was salty and it did not filter that out, so they ended up buying bottled water anyway. [The filter instructions say freshwater only, no brackish or salt water, but it was too bad it could not handle the tap water.]

that really is a gorgeous duffle but WOW.. $160 for a water bottle.. its what I expect when I watch your channel.. I got a like new duffle with all its tags at a thrift store for $4, it doesnt have a boot pocket or leather straps but it did what a duffle does. The same goes for the stainless steel qt bottle I got at the same place for $1.. definitely different worlds... I do like that collectors binder a lot

Hey, Taylor, I know I'm a little late on this video I just got back from deployment that being said if you are still looking for a dopp kit, I highly recommend you look into Gravel. Their Explorer MAX served me very well over 2 different 8 month+ deployments aboard An aircraft Carrier. I don't understand a little on the price of your side, but there was and they have 4 different sizes to choose from.

Interesting video, as always. Regarding your search for your next Dopp Kit, I've been carrying Colonel Littleton's GP-1 Bag Dopp Kit for the past decade or so. It is made of heavy canvas and heavy leather strapping ad (so far) it shows no discernable wear and tear from some pretty hard use. Good luck in your hunt!

I recommend getting a Killswitch case from Dbrand for your Steam Deck. Cuts down on the bulkiness compared to the official carrying case from Valve. You can throw it in your backpack and not worry about damage

The thoughtful details that went into the Journeyman Duffel is something we can really get behind!

I almost always keep a spare set of clothes and toiletries in my back pack, especially if I check a bag. Nothing worse than your bag getting lost enroute, and your stuck without clean clothes for a day or more.

I also always use a trash bag as my laundry bag when traveling. Definitely not as durable as a dedicated dry bag, or as leak proof, but definitely gets the job done.

I received an LL Bean waxed canvas hanging toiletry bag for Christmas and it’s amazing. It’s a great material and you can hang it wherever you are so it’s leaves more open space on the counter which can be pretty limited in hotels. Also it has quite a few pockets which is great however it is a little bigger than most people might want

I love chicago combs. 13 seems like a lot for a comb but they're well worth the price, plus it's not like most people are just destroying combs left and right. Everything is really smooth and well rounded. Normal cheap dollar store type combs are just like pressed plastic and so they'll often have sharp ridges that snag or bite hair etc... they just suck. The #6 is a good general comb, the #8 is godly if you have a thicker beard. They just glide through hair.

Taylor, for the charger, pick up a short powercord extension. They come in at around maybe 8 inches long and this will help with the charger staying plugged in. Instead of the charger cantilevering itself out from the weight, the extension will allow it to hang, which would still be a more positive connection.

I use the spiff kit from Mystery Ranch. It’s waxed canvas and it pretty “minimum frills”, which I like. For what it’s worth, their urban assault backpack in waxed canvas is worth having. It’s my favorite edc backpack of all time and I’ve owned more than a few.

I have used the LL Bean hanging bag for years now. It has been on multiple deployments to the desert and the aircraft carrier.
