0:25 That is the most terrifying thing, not remembering. When I quit drinking I had 4 tonic/clonics, I know how it feels mate. Mine were temporary I can't imagine living with it, my heart truly goes out to you.

I had a tonic clonic (grand mal) seizure last Monday. I normally have focal aware seizures so I felt horrible when I woke up from much worse. When I have focal aware seizures I normally feel a rising in my stomach as if I'm on a roller coaster and I hear weird buzzing around me and my mouth goes quite dry. However before the tonic clonic seizure I felt as if someone pressed stop on a remote to my brain, I couldn't think of any words and I felt as if my soul was trying to leave my body. Out of instinct I walked to the living room with my hands on my head and I sat next to my mum on the sofa and that's the last I remember. She said she tried to get my hands off my head but they were very stiff and I was staring straight forward before I started the clonic phase and moving my arms and legs. She said I was doing it for a few minutes after she called for ambulance and I woke up with people from hospital looking at me ready to take me. I couldn't quite think of proper words for a couple more minutes and it took a good 10-15 minutes for me to be able to talk properly. I am on Keppra now and I really hope they do the job and that never happens again. Very scary.

Interesting that he gets a taste in his mouth; I hear sounds (like whooshing noises that get faster and faster) right before a seizure. My neurologist says that the type of aura can help pinpoint where the seizure is originating. Mine appear to originate in the Temporal Lobe, where sound is processed. Could be that his start where taste is processed.

I have seizures when I’m asleep and it scares me

It happened to me but I wish I remembered what happened to me at the onset of the seizures I have. I wake up in the hospital with syringes and feeling muscle aches and weezy from the intravenous meds administered. I'd been reminded over and again that I've had 'another gran mal seizure'. It's terrible not knowing when the onset of them will occur. It's like I'm at the mercy of this episode to occur at any given time. I do everything I can to prevent it by following my doctors advice to not miss my daily dosages.

I had severe tonic clinic seizures during an emergency c section. That was 6 months ago. Me n baby are perfect but the flash backs and nightmares haunt me til this day

I used to have focal seizures when I was younger then a year ago I had a tonic clonic seizure due to sleep deprivation I wake up really confused and my head hurts I'm nearly seizure free for a a year scince I've been taking 500mg of sodiem valproate in morning and night it's really scary to think about I feel for alot of people with epilepsy I also have self medicated with cannibis although it's not legal in the UK I feel it makes a difference on the condition and the anxiety that comes with it

I had 5 seizures before my worst one was in 2014 and I was in a 5 hour coma at 5

'The weird taste in his mouth' feels like a big clue to me. Human beings have different fluids in the body. Maybe dehydration?
