we found an old fishing reel in the sea. it was completely ruined. I took it home to restore this roddy reel. take a lot of time to restore it. it has been restored to 90%. We use this reel to go fishing. We caught a pretty big fish.

Hi everyone!
First of all I want to let u know here in the following it s, ,NO HATE" but I see a lot of people admiring the way our guy restore things...for a lot of u, which don't have any idea about the restoration, changing the colour it means, ,WOW"...but for some of us which r doing this nd know what about, to change the colour putting some paint it means zero...
His idea for restoring old things it s brilliant but the way he s doing that it means nothing... everything he s doing it s superficial, perfunctory... when u choose to restore something old, u should follow the smallest details, coz the small details makes the big differences... unfortunately our guy missed the fineness!
So, my friend, please don't take this as a hate but as a advice...I hope in the future u ll do the best!

Very nice restoration, looks like a "quality" reel, can't imagine why an angler discarded it.
I'm an angler from years ago, but fresh water, not sea fishing. You did an amazing job.

Nice job.. But dont ever repaint inside the body and side plate. The paint will tear off and stuck at the main gear. You just apply grease around the internal part. Trust me, i do service vintages reel for many years.

Better than a lot of Asian restoration channels but the finish was deplorable. No primer or sanding. You could see the pitting on the reel. Lubrication was limited to grease in the main body of the reel; and don’t even get me started on reusing the old line. Sorry, it’s a no from me.
