VINTAGE Fishing REEL Repair & Restoration (Re-edited)

In this restoration video you will see how to repair and restore this Vintage fishing Reel which is very old and rusty, this Reel was manufactured in the 1950s and is from the North American brand Penn model SeaBoy 85.
I love Restoring Old Things and you will see the process of disassembling cleaning of all its parts, rust removal, construction of a new handle, Nickel plating of the exterior parts, lubrication of the interiors and the meticulous assembly so that this Penn85 reel can be used again and works like new more than 60 years ago when it left the factory.

Was just gifted a penn #78 from 1950 I cleaned it and it’s ready to go out!!!! It’s so cool seeing them get fixed up, this is my first project and it’s gonna be my baby for sure 👍

Nice work on that one! I’ve restored a couple of these old pen reels and put them back in use. I caught a small shark on a Long Beach 65 this weekend. Great job redoing the nickel plating, I didn’t know it was something that could be done like that.

Nice job. I've refurbished many of these old Penn reels, but I don't replate the metal parts. I just polish them as best I can.

I’m lucky enough to have had my grandfather leave me his original series 1 Alvey side cast. As well as on of the first Alvey Bakelite ones. Both still 100% operational to this day.
