Blender Animation Layers [BLENDER 2.8 for ANIMATORS]

Many addons like that one add functionallity that is not there, but do so with data that IS there, so the addon is very valuable :)
You can have more space in the NLA byi going to View > Show control f-curves.
I'm not even an animator but the changes that happened sometime in 2.82 or 2.83 are great, and I noticed when I used it recently it seemed more intuitive. Before there was an extra dropdown for changing the track name when you can already do that double clicking in the name, and the first tab was in the second one with everything else as well as two panels that now are a subpanel.

I'm building a 3d Platformer in UE5 and my Animation Skills aren't that great yet so I am slowly trying to figure all this stuff out to finish my game project without losing too much time on my end goal and getting overly frustrated to the point of giving up in between all of that.

Yeahh!! Man you made my day! Last week I had decided to give up Blender for animation, but you made me change my mind again! About the NLA I saw a lot of explanation videos, but yours were the more simpler a clearer finally I understood! Thank you for that!

Maybe you need to unlock the base layer in the NLA Editor before trying to bake the layers down? Either way man, that add on looks amazing!! Thx for sharing 🤗
