I love how CASUAL the bird is in how quickly it picks Hopper up. Incredibly realistic depiction of just how hopelessly outclassed a bug is compared to a bird.

For the bugs that was a dramatic villain death...
But for the bird, it was just Tuesday.

Credit where credit is due, those bird movements are so incredibly realistic. Very impressive for 1998.

It’s quite a fitting end for Hopper.

He rules others through fear. And he got killed by a bird. The one thing he feared.

Whats terrifying that those three chicks were probably pulling him, ripping him apart

Hopper deserved every minute of that. It’s also really well done putting the viewers from a bug’s perspective showing how birds are like monsters to bugs but not to human beings.

To a human, baby birds are adorable… but for a grasshopper… they’re the things that keep them up at night, a literal nightmare which came true for Hopper who had escaped a bird but not this time

It's amazing how naive I was as a child. I watched this thousands of times and loved every minute of this death. As an adult, I get shivers at how dark this was for a kids film.

First line of dialogue: Demanding food.
Final moments: Becoming food.

I mean, to be fair, the mother bird had to be a responsible parent and keep her baby birds fed.

"It's a bug eat bug world out there, princess. One of those...circle of life, kind of things"

Well, he definitely lived up to his own words.

Flik is definitely smart in defeating Hopper for good. He knows that despite the ants managed to outclass Hopper’s gang, but the leader himself will never give up. That’s when he decided on one thing; let nature take its course by luring him to the same bird’s nest he encountered earlier.

I really love the attention to detail. Birds normally sing and tweet for us. But in Hopper's perspective, we get this menacing growl and roar.

I wish we got more deaths like this in current Pixar movies, its realistic and dark

Hopper: Hello girls!

Mother bird: Hello dinner!

The little “Yep” Flick gives is so satisfying. Think he would’ve been fine with them both getting eaten at that point 😂

I have no doubt, Hopper's scream when being fed to the chicks was terrifying.

While there are three nestlings here, you can see there are three eggs when we first meet the bird.
As a bird fanatic, I think they did a great job of making the birds both cute and horrifying at the same time.

This is scary sure, but imagine the other grasshoppers perspective. They left him with the ants, and hopper never returns. Leaving them to theorize that the ants killed him

I know it was meant to be scary for Hopper, and it is, but golly, the three little birdies looked happy. It's no wonder this scene is satisfying.
