PPAs play a vital role in these distributions, so knowing how to install one to your system is a vital skill you should know. Tune in next week when I show you five basic Linux commands every new user should know. As always comment, subscribe, and share. :)

Bro came here to learn about ppa and the only thing I learned in 4 minutes was what ppa stands for. I guess mostly you get thrown these two commands at you as a solution for problem X. But I expected some more explanation in these for minutes and not 3 minutes about text editors....

I am currently wondering why this command didn't finish in 10 minutes...
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openjdk-r/ppa
As I assumed and you also confirmed in the video it just adds it to the sources list right? So it is only a text append? So this should not take any time at all?

And what are the security risks of adding a ppa? Who controls the lists of ppas? Are those some how audited or scanned by humans? Idk just tell me something :c
