After watching 13 videos on YouTube I finally figured out what high/low context means exactly. Thank you.

I did my bachelor and master degree in the UK, and then work in China, It's really struggle to understand what is my manager talking about even though I'm native Chinese speaker. Finally, I found the reason here: English is low context culture while Chinese is high context culture. I have changed my thinking approaches during the bachelor and master, and I require more specific info to conduct a task, unfortunately, my manager just can't understand why I need more info, and probably thought I was stupid.

It is useful video. I do this mistake. Mandarin is a high context language but English is low context language. My communication type is high context because of Euphemistic expression custom. No wonder I communicate with my foreigner friends, I sometimes bewilder my friend. I am correcting my mistake. I really appreciate this video.

Being American and having lived in Spain, Sicily, and now Puerto Rico, I concur regarding my personal interactions within each respective culture. I will attest that being originally from New Jersey and also having lived in Northern Florida, that within the US, the South is relatively high context compare to the lower contexted North.
