EGR Quick Fix 2 - Cummins

Показать описание

Some preventative maintenance and a possible easy fix for your diesel Engine. In this video I speak about a Cummins ISL/ISC engine but it really applies to many Diesel engine makes and models (Cummins, Volvo, Detroit etc). Keeping the EGR differential pressure ports and tubes clean and clear can help prevent problems like engine lights, "derates" and loss of power. Most importantly - Downtime. Keeping your EGR system working properly can also prolong the life of your DPF and aftertreatment system.

It's cheap, easy and something you can do in your driveway.

Great video. I service these EGR valves, coolers, pipes, & sensors all the time and this video is spot on. Well done

Exactly what the problem was. One port flowing freely, the other completely blocked . Removed the plug, cleaned the port . Now flowing properly and performing correctly. Thanks for the tech advice. 👍

Heat up the plug before removal.. or risk thread pull out.
Someone mentioned also that aftermarket egr coolers can build up soot and set temp codes.
If there is excessive soot.. look into turbo or engine conditions to cause this.

Does this engine have Intake manifold 1 pressure/temperature sensor? I have a code that come off and on. I have 2009 ISB Cummin 6.7L on a bluebird bus. I found the barometric sensor, MAP sensor, EGR differential pressure sensor.

Hi I watched this video and I did all that u said but not check the egr cooler and I keep getting a fault code 3382. Do u think that the cooler may be the problem?

a good thing to do is blow out that egr cooler because if that’s plugged there is a good chance the cooler is as well….. sometimes you get a good face plug on that dpf as well

Hey, TheDieseler at it again. Thank you sir. Though I would like to know what happens to the soot that gets shot back to the intake line. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video. I wish I would've come across it before I spent weeks trying to diagnose mine lol! Do you have anything on cleaning the cooler?

What happens if the egr cooler has a puddle of coolant?
