Islam was mainly divided into two branches Shia and Sunni. Sunni Islam is dominant and comprises 85% of the 2 Billion Muslim population, while Shia comprises 15%. This division occurred right after the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632 AD on the issue of his succession.
Sunni Islam is divided further into 4 branches. Hanfi, Maliki, Shafi and Hanbali. The Hanfi sect is named after Imam Abu Hanifa, born in Iraq in 699 AD. Similarly, Imam Malik, Shafii, and Hanbali were born in 711, 767, and 780 AD respectively.

My great grandfather reverted to islam, & that time he made a rule to read Qur'an everyday in house.
Yeh! Still now we read Qur'an everyday.
Due to his powerfull decision, We follow Quran, rather people who represents them as some sects.
