Do Cold Water Regs Work in Warm Water? #askmark #scuba

@thomasmartin390
hello, I had a question. I will soon acquire the MTX RC. However, I rarely dive in cold water but rather in warm water. Is it just as efficient in hot water? thanks for you reply

Its like asking "can I drive my SUV in city ?"

No such thing as a bad question, sort of.
Mark's explanation reminds viewers of the physics involved in diving and the equipment we use.

No they do not work in warm water. They start boiling. You can see the bubbles coming out.

#askmark Hi Mark, I did my drysuit course back in February in a 4 degree lake in the UK. I was using a Fourth Element Hydra that was small anyway but tighter than a wetsuit for me with thick undergarments on. During the two dives I was using the drysuit for buoyancy and all the air was going to my feet and I kept becoming inverted. I was using negatively buoyant Fourth Element Tech Fins so that should’ve helped but it didn’t. I kept having to do recoveries and it kind of ruined the idea of drysuit diving and wasn’t great fun. My question is: What do you think caused this? And how can I prevent it when I ultimately come to get my own Drysuit? And one last question can you explain the difference between Apollo, Apeks and Si-Tech drysuit valves? Kind regards, Isaac.

Would you know what the difference in weight between Xdeep standard aluminium vs the ultralight? Considering one of those with the Zeos 28 wing. I dive 10L al tanks in warm water.

#askmark Hi Mark! I'm looking to buy some regs for two stage bottles, but don't want to spend too much money. Is there any reg you can recommend that is on the cheaper side, but will still work for more demanding dives and won't force me to upgrade later on?

#askmark Is Mares Quad CI worth waiting? On paper it looks promising for now, but not many information are shared for now, apart from the ones from few online dive stores.

#askmark - Hello Mark, a question about the swivel that you have to install in the high-pressure hoses to the pressure gauge. I have now bought new MIFLEX hoses for my 2nd stage and the octopus as a replacement for the old rubber hoses and there was NO swivel in the old connections. Sure, they were sealed beforehand - so do you actually only need them in the high-pressure hoses? Thank you for a short answer - and thank you for the great explanatory videos on your channel :)

#askmark if you buy a new regulator does the manufacturer recommend a new 2nd stage to go with that regulator? i see a lot of new 1st stage regs come with primary 2nd stages, at least that' how there displayed in the shop, but if you already have a primary and octo 2nd stage are they fine with the new regulator?

Hello Mark,
We recently had a little oops-a-daisy at the lake.
We put our sidemount tanks in the lake when suddenly strong winds came up.
The result was that the bottles drifted away.
Three were found immediately, but one was gone and we searched for about an hour to find it again (which luckily we did).
Is there a way to securely attach the tanks to the bank in the water?
Thanks and best regards from Austria

#askmark I am in the market for a new DSMB. I came across new white and black or orange and black models. Razor make some for example. Apparently, they are easier to see under various circumstances which makes perfect sense to me. They already really stick out on the product photos. Is there a reason to not go with them like specific regulations that have to be a single colour?

You were right on the first one, it's Gay-Lussac's Law.
