The guitarist is Richie Blackmore. He was a founding member of Deep Purple.
Vocalist Ronnie James Dio joined Black Sabbath after this to replace Ozzy. And also had a solo career.
Deep Purple songs - Smoke on the Water and Hush.
Dio songs- Holy Diver, Last in Line and Rainbow in the Dark.

Ronnie James Dio (RIP) had a very unique voice and way of telling a story with his words. He replaced Ozzy in Black Sabbath, also had a great solo career in the 80's. He (it is said) is the one that introduced the "Metal Horns" to Metal. \m/ he said that he got it form his Italian grandmother when she would use the... MALOCCHIO...To ward off evil spirits. \m/

Oh my word.... follow Ritchie Blackmore and you will find perfection. His Deep Purple days were sublime and he continued with Rainbow.

“Kill the King” and “Stargazer” are amazing Rainbow songs as well. You can’t go wrong with legendary singer Ronnie James Dio. “Heaven and Hell” with Ronnie fronting Black Sabbath is also outstanding.

The guitarist is the legendary Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple. He, along with Jon Lord on Hammond Organ and keyboards, gave Deep Purple their iconic sound. I suggest you listen to Highway Star or Lazy from Deep Purple's Machine Head album or the the Title track (Burn) from the Burn album if you want to hear why they are legendary. As for Dio, he is phenomenal and I suggest you try Man on the Silver Mountain from Rainbow if you want to hear his vocals soar. Another Rainbow song you may have heard from the 1980s was Street of Dreams but Dio didn't sing on that since that was after he joined Black Sabbath replacing Ozzy.

Not all their songs are 'dark', Ronnie was known for fantastical song writing. Their music had so much life, not screaming hard metal. You will LOVE their catalogue. I requested some below, but anything on the albums 'Long Live Rock and Roll' or 'Rainbow Rising' are when Dio was with the band and are incredible. Dio also fronted Black Sabbath, much better than Ozzy, and his solo band DIO. I requested videos from both before!

P.S. I met Dio behind a venue years ago... 5 years later I swear that he picked me out of a crowd in the audience, pointed at me and told me to smile. He was one of the coolest genuinely nicest musician I ever met. No ego...super cool.

This was a supergroup. Ritchie Blackmore, founding member of Deep Purple, Ronnie James Dio was known as "The man with the golden throat." He was truly a rock god. Cozy Powell was an incredible drummer. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is my favorite Rainbow album. I would highly suggest you react to "Stargazer" from the Rainbow Rising album.
