This performance really gives the material a whole added layer of depth.
To sing “Everyone’s forgotten when they started” in a massive auditorium filled with people who have fought like hell to get to the biggest night in UK Theatre really is quite something!
All at once, there’s something rather glorious about that feeling of ‘making it’ but at the same time there’s a rather haunting reminder of the sacrifices it takes to survive in this industry.
No wonder Jamie Lloyd won Best Director (at last!)!

Saw this 4 times in the west end including closing night. Really is the best thing I've ever seen. Still blows my mind how modern and relevant they made this musical. It was heartbreakingly wonderful.
