Hey Michelle as somebody born and raised in Italy (living in US now) I can advise you not to wait. It’s not so easy to find specialized high end boutiques there as we don’t have malls. It’s also more expensive than US. Living in Vegas you have much easier access to these brands than you would in Italy. Also in Italy everybody knows every little designer so the concept of quiet luxury doesn’t exist because people are quite trained in recognizing design items without labels and all designers are famous there, not just the big ones. Have fun!

I love the Sardine. It has a shoulder strap too. I’m so happy BV has returned to the old smaller weave. I bought a cassette but am not as happy with it as with my older Intrecciato camera bags. Love their wallets as well, great colors and nice small sizes. Alas for me, BV has increased their bag prices so significantly this year that I’ll be much more cautious before my next purchase.

I bought a Mulberry Small Zipped Bayswater recently and I love it. The logo is really small, and the bag is a classic shape, and beautifully made.

I use my same bottega wallet everyday and my bag has been through night clubs and just walking around in the park, and I’m also very blasé when it comes to caring for them, and the quality is exceptional! Not a single scratch on either and my wallet is only just a little dirty but i have it in a very light beige color. One of my favorite luxury leather brands for sure 👍🏻

I would choose the Sardine, because I think if you actually put anything in the foulard, it would distort the drapey shape of it.

Thanks Michele for yet another timely video on exactly what I have been pondering these past couple of weeks😂 I love all your picks. I would have to say my favorites are the Bottegas and of the two I would select the Sardine bag. The Bottega Sardine looks like a collector's piece to me and seems more flexible (day to night) and has a strap which would be ideal for touring. The Foulard is also another gorgeous choice but I don't feel that it is quite as flexible. Happy shopping! 🛍

Great list. Super long time fan of Lord Piano. Suede is a personal preference. I love suede for shoes, both for upper and a no slip footbed (tends to be anti microbial). It provides a matte "texture" to outfits. I do not care suede handbags because suede "clings" slightly to clothing enough to annoy me. Love my BV bags and SLG's. Their Sardine bag is absolutely awesome....to look at. I am not sure about the execution. If you do not mind holding a bag in your hand all night then get it. It is something really special. I always end up resting handle bags on my wrist or arm. I do not enjoy carrying anything in my hands, and will put things down (and leave behind) to get them out of my hands. This includes my iPhone 14 Pro, wallets. I learned many many years ago from my Gucci bamboo top handle bag and a Prada metal handle bag that I completely loathe hard handles on bags. They do not play nicely with my arms/wrists for any length of time so I will end up leaving the bag in the car.

I have a large tote by Brahmin that is my idea of what you call quiet luxury. Brown python print and stamped, but not the raised pattern; dark brown trim, nice brass feet to preserve the bottom. I carried this bag every day for SEVEN YEARS, then took it to a shoe repair for refurbishing and re-dyeing. It was a gift, maybe $400.? and I spent $125. for the refurbishing. I bet I'll get another seven years out of it. Quality counts! Love the video!

All of your choices - from then and now- are so elegant. I have the Bottega Jodie on my wishlist and am searching pre-loved for it. That, and the Celine box bag are ones I'd love to add to my collection! I think that Furla is a sort of forgotten brand who makes quiet luxury pieces with high quality materials and is really quite affordable!
