As a natural night owl, I've tried things over the years to become a 'morning person'. What I ultimately learned is that while one can get up early, it doesn't mean one will work more effectively. I am far more productive and creative at night, and thus have accepted this and work my schedule to that effect.

many years ago your videos led to me always waking up at 5-6 am and i ended up getting into 3d modelling which has now resulted in me becoming a game art student and improving really quickly, in the past two years ive lost this schedule but im starting to try my best again!!!

Glad you mentioned going to bed early. I know way too many people who decide to start waking up early but go to bed at midnight. If you don't get at least 7 hours of sleep, you're routine won't be sustainable. For me, turning off all screens at 8:30pm helps make sure I get a good night sleep when I clock out at 9

Best thing you can do to become a morning person is to actually have a purpose for waking up early; having something you feel like you actually need to do in the morning. I tried in vain for a long time to be a morning person until my college routine combined with going to the gym forced me to be one. Now I’ve adopted a solid daily routine that makes me wake up with a purpose, whether that’s making my daily breakfast shake, doing a little bit of studying before it’s time to hit the road, or other things along those lines. Then I discovered that I’m a morning person 7 days a week, even though I previously thought I was forever a night owl.

I started to do all me after work things BEFORE work in the morning because I just do not have nay energy after work, no matter what time I wake up. Doing fun things and chores before work means that after work my day is ready and I can do what ever I feel like I'm able to do, even if it's just going to bed early, lessens stress a lot

I use an app (called sleep for Android for Android users but I'm sure there are alternatives) that has you scan a QR Code to turn the alarm off and keep that QR code on the bathroom mirror. That way I still have my phone in reach, but can't snooze or turn it off and keep sleeping. Really helps getting out of bed! Still tough though

Also, try not to drink within 3 hours before sleep, as drinking too close to bedtime can wake you up at night.

I've been trying to find a way to force myself to get up earlier and have really been struggling... this is the best advice I've heard so far.

Sounds like it works for you. Does not mean it will work for everyone else. Definitely the cold water doesn't even make sense. Body's organs will wake up and react to warm/hot water instead. Awesome that its all working for you, and I am a bit jealous. I couldn't get up on time since elementary school. Keep it up and wishing you all the best.
