Big sad, I forgot about the canon r10.

Honesty it is a better than what Sony currently offers. We are basically comparing cameras from 5 years ago from Sony (apsc) to Canons new releases a few months ago (apsc), so yea it’s to be expected.

If Sony releases an updated zv-e10 mark ii (with a new sensor) vs canon r10? Those would probably be the best cameras for people starting out as they are both IMO generational leaps in technology as they are ditching their recycled sensors.

So did this video come out a bit late? Yea. With new releases right around the corner, but that ALSO means the sony a6500 used will only continue to drop in price so keep that in mind…

To get good 1080p from the a6500 in 60fps you have to increase your shutter speed to double instead of 1/125 push it to 1/250 and the 1080p will be sharp and a better quality.

Started with the a6500, finally got myself a Canon R5 a few months ago. Both great for photo and video!

I really enjoyed listening to your input! I agree with a lot of what you covered. Now, as for your audio... I beleive I see that you're using a shotgun/directional microphone. Trust me. If you want to get more consistant audio, move your mic a little further away from you (like 2-4 inches) and point it just infront of your face at nose height and point it slightly down toward your chest area. You'll have to turn up your gain a little bit more, but you'll get MUCH more consistant audio levels and you'll avoid a lot of the popping. I like what you're making here. Keep it up!

Using my a6500 since few years now and in 2023 ist not enough for me any more. The 8-bit-thing is coming to light, if you begin to color grade. I will keep it as the second cam in my bag, but now I want to go full-frame with ZV-E1. It's an other step for me. Anyway thanks for the vid!

The Sony's soft 1080p isn't because of bitrate but because they have to sample 24 megapixels down to 1080p and it uses line skipping as a solution to keep the full width of the sensor.

Just subbed! I wanted to ask if you are still shooting with the a6500? And if so are you using s-Log to for this talking head vid. Tbh you’ve gotten some of the cleanest footage out of this camera. And it seems as if you’ve brought it’s fullest potential out compared to many YouTubers using this camera. If you have a vid explaining how to unlock that type of quality out of this camera it be super helpful as I’m just now picking it back up after it collecting dust for about 3 years.

I’d like to follow your tutorial and really unlock this camera/master it before attempting to upgrade to the a1 ii when it drops lol.

I'm on the lookout for my first mirrorless camera, upgrading from a DSLR. Currently, I'm considering the Sony a6500 or ZV-E10 (any thoughts on using Catalyst Browse with the ZV-E10?). My budget is around 400-650€ for a used or refurbished model. I'd prefer to stick with Sony for the E-mount, but it's not a deal-breaker if I find a better option elsewhere. My usage is roughly 60% video and 40% photography. It's important to me that the camera has good software and mobile support. I also want it to shoot 4K or higher video with IBIS or gyroscope support and preferably in 10 bit.
I'm planning to make the purchase around summer, so I'm open to waiting for new releases. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! One last thing: I want to exclude the GH5. I know it's a great camera for the price and can shoot in 10-bit, but the Micro 4/3 sensor and poor autofocus don't suit my type of content, if the GH5 is only option in this price segment, then i might as well just pick it up.

So, what about photography? Does auto-focus and object tracking works fine?

I thought you did a good job "without a script". That rolling shutter issue though...I'm still confused.

Hi im beginner, im looking forward to buy a camera which's mostly for photography, is the a6500 a better choice than the a6400 since a6500 is much cheaper rn, and im also gonna get the sigma 18-50mm f2.8 as my first lens

Hi planning to get the fx30 and to use the a6500 as my B-cam for weddings and music videos etc, will I be able to use them together and colour grade them so the end product looks like I've only used the Fx30, obviously the a6500 I will only use for snippets. Thanks for the video. I'm considering getting a bmpcc 6k pro with a tilta cage for a good price, but have so must lenses for the Sony a6500 which I can probably use on the fx30 so don't want to make a mistake by selling my Sony gear for the 6k pro, and I can almost get the same type of footage from the fx30 matched up with my a6500 and a6000. Also love the built in ND filters in the 6k pro.

So with the fx30 coming, do you plan to upgrade to that camera? I've had the A6500 as my main/only camera for the past 3 years and bought the fx30 as a replacement.

I have a deal to pick one up with the underwater housing and a tray to mount the camera for $600. Would it be a good camera for scuba filming
