Maryland plans to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge in just over four years at an estimated cost between $1.7 billion and $1.9 billion, a state transportation official said Thursday.
The state plans to build a new span by fall of 2028, said David Broughton, a spokesperson for the Maryland Department of Transportation. He said the cost estimate is preliminary, and detailed engineering specifics have not been confirmed.

1954 Mackinac bridge took three years to build at today's cost of 1.1 billion. It's 5 miles long and 200ft high. Yep, no corruption on the east coast.

Why does Baltimore have to pay for rebuilding the bridge. The big cargo ship should be paying for it.

Tax dollars are going to waste more than the bridge to nowhere in Alaska decades ago. 2 billion dollars is outrageously overpriced and criminal. There's no way on God's green earth or costs anywhere close to a few hundred million dollars. How anyone other than the crooks getting this extorted money can even think about paying that for any bridge is beyond me.
