Add 100hp To Your Car With E85

E85, when used with the proper mods can unlock 100hp or more depending upon the application. Here's an overview who want to learn more about it.

Hey, I realize it's your car,Ricing out your car doesn't make it cool, it makes you like inexperienced or tasteless. If that's your jam, you'll be taking heat from a lot of people.

Horsepower gain from E85 varies quite a lot depending on your vehicles method of induction. If your NA you might get like 20 hp..which is significant, but much lower than you can get if your boosted were you can get like you said 100hp .

My dad's 07 Focus has a factory Flex-Fuel. He always said that it was more responsive on E85. He had about 1l higher MPG but it was little cheaper so it was about the same price in the end. Unfortunately it's nowhere to be found nowadays.

Great video. My GT350 with E85 and a Lund Tune made a big difference in my car. They say 40-60hp. You can feel that!!

Even on a supercharged application, it's not going to add that much power, since you can't turn the boost up without swapping a pulley. This is of course assuming you're doing a flex fuel application where you want to still be able to run pump gas. If you're only going to run E, you can pulley down and it'll help. On my Corvette, I make about 710whp on pump gas (93 octane), and around 750whp on E85 because I can run a little more timing. It's not super drastic, but it's something. It's a lot of modification for small gains in my opinion. Totally worth it on turbo cars though because you can have the boost curve scale with ethanol content and that's where you see huge gains.

E85 is corn based, easily found in the states but other countries no so .

No mention of the junk up you get… you have to run straight gas to clean it every so often… you did say don’t let it sit for a week which is hard if you have multiple cars

I’m going to get so much flack for this but I DON’T LIKE E85.

Pro tip, if you run E85, change your oil more often than recommended for regular petrol.
There is a reason that Volvo and others have a different service schedule for their FlexFuel variants.

Edit: oh Craig mentioned it….

Also i Live in Sweden were petrol stations were legally mandated to have E85 pumps a few years back, so it isn’t hard to come by…

Haven't finished watching yet, but wanted to ask early:

Doesn't E85 adversely impact seals and other gasket like seals in moderately older vehicles? Pre-00's?

Edit: Maybe I'm thinking of the ethanol in regular gas, you probably understand the context of what I'm asking.

I can get an e85 kit for 500€ for my tiny Twingo.

But isnt it just turbos that get this benefit, naturally aspirated doesnt?

I've never seen one E-85 station in VT. Most people just run 93 here.
