A lot of features were removed or cancelled from maps in the game. In the future, this video will also talk about how Hawkins was removed, and how RPD used to be a single map.

My most favourite thing that sadly got removed is something i call, ,cow's physics" on old coldwind maps at the cowtree when you hit the cow or hanging skeleton it began to swing. It was even better when you shot it with deathslinger as it was swinging completely uncontrolably

The reason why there are no dogs in Haddonfield is because Michael ate them all before the chapter's release.

I would have loved that new swamp map, plus if the bait shop was fitted to work with the neon signs more, I think it would be really cool, have a bright neon sign obscured by fog, in a dark and grim map...

The Hawkins map had a “dogs alert” type thing, upstairs there was a baby demogorgon in a cage and if a survivor walked into the room, it would begin to make a lot of noise and shake the cage. The killer found me because of this once.
EDIT: Oh also, that weird tree in Shelter Woods used to have a different collision because you could climb it partially and actually activate balanced landing on it, but when they reworked the maps, they removed that feature and it makes Shelter Woods my least favorite map.

What I’m about to say isn’t really a removed map feature, but I’ve noticed that the graphically updated maps have been downgraded over time since their release without it being stated in the patch notes. For example, the Yamaoka Maps used to have an orange glow effect around the various orange lamps in them, but then they were removed later.

The one map feature I hated getting removed was the Moonlight Rays and Old Lighting. I missed the old lighting engine on how it made maps dark and the moon had rays shining down on the map. The new graphic engine doesn't really have that dark feeling unlike the old version. But it's something at least.

I've always wished that the tree in Shelter Woods would be transformed into a small treehouse. Never imagined it to be a strong building just something maybe with a window and/or pallet maybe like the blood lodge, something people with Balanced Landing could use at least.

In the old coldwind farm the cow tree had this cow skeleton tied to the tree but was removed in the coldwind rework

Knew it was coming but you described how tree from shelter woods could spawn in any macmillian map in dev diary however earlier macmillians weren't devided so there was one big macmillian estate with lots of stuff so yeah it couldn't spawn. Oh yeah and orange crane was just too powerful that is why they removed it (just theory).

shelter woods is not the only map that only has shack as main building, there exists wreckers yard and rotten fields(which you mentioned)

I think the reason for Yamaoka still having the same atmosphere was probably because of performance issues although the main building of the spirit is the only part that got the color of the atmosphere in the full release of the updated graphics build

I've seen alpha DBD footage showing every MacMillan building combined into one single map, so perhaps the large tree wasn't a regular tile, but simply one of the multiple landmarks that were then separated into different maps.

I remember that the unbreackable totem in haddonfield happend to me with legion and the funny part was that devour hope was there so easy 5 stacks

I noticed in the game that the hair physics got decreased a lot. Nea's cosmetic with her long hair is now really stiff. Not a huge deal, It's just something I noticed.

Okay out of all the facts I wasn't expecting dogs to have been a thing that was planned for the suburbs, that actually caught me off guard!

I do have a feeling why they got removed though, given the volume of the barking on the interview, maybe it could have been that. But realistically that wouldn't be right because reducing the volume of the sound would have fixed it, so maybe it's because dogs were basically doing the job of the crows in the map, not to mention that given they were supposed to interrupt the killer as well, there have been some issues in how to go around stopping the dog without raising red flags so maybe in the end the idea was scrapped? Idk but it's fun to think about lol

When are we ever going to get a Blight or trickster map? City maps would be a great addition to the game, Blight would have a Victorian city full of cobblestone streets and the main building being his laboratory which I assume would be like a corner store apothecary (before he got his gift of a lab on Dyer Island), or trickster where he has a concert stadium with neon city streets surrounding it
