There’s another Easter Egg where several characters shoot guns. This is actually a reference to how people in real life use firearms to defend themselves against threats.

This is *partially* true, in fact, bears are pretty chill in nature, when you encounter one though, you can't just t pose there to assert dominance, it is highly recommended to talk calmly to it, waving slowly your arms to identify yourself as a human, it may approach, but normally it'll be out of curiosity. The thing is bears may bluff out of the encounter charging against you to turn at the last moment, but you don't just stand there, you calmly talk to it while walking backwards slowly, make yourself look bigger.
If a black bear attacks you either stand your ground or fight it back.
The best way to react to a brown bear attacking you is laying in the ground in a fetal position or with your stomach flat on the ground playing dead, covering the back of your neck with your hands and your back with a big backpack or whatever you have, keeping soft areas and vital points out of reach.
With polar bears, good luck, playing dead doesn't work, you must try anything, try to scare them, use bear spray, draw the attention out of you, don't run, don't fight.

"Simular to how they will in real life" most bear encounters are surprises . How ever standing ground working against a charge isn't unheard of . But very rare . But now that I know this works in the game, I'm sure gana do it from now on!🤣

Read the compendiums, if you're bored. You'll learn a bunch there and since not many people do it, you could make some pretty original content from it if you're willing to experiment with animal encounters ofc. It's a lot of trial and errors

Idk if anybody knows this but just like IRL if you shoot an alligator in between the eyes in RDR2 they will die much quicker

A black bear will leave you alone if you get bigger than them, a grizzly run or get in a rock position as a rock, now a polar bear will just eat you
