FSD Is SOLVED, and it Was SO SIMPLE--Elon Musk!! Plus First Cybertruck Rolls Off The Line!

In a bit of a bombshell, during the xai Twitter spaces Elon Musk insinuated that Tesla AI team has made a MAJOR step-change in their FSD Beta software! Even more interestingly, this change was "so simple" and Tesla had in the past overcomplicated things on the way to car and Teslabot autonomy. I believe this all has to do with World Models, Foundational model training, end-to-end networks, and gamifying the learning process.

Having been a two-time pickup owner, and retiring my most recent five years ago, I chose not to get another despite the wonderful utility that owning a pickup provides. When the Cybertruck was revealed in November 2019, I immediately changed my mind and made a reservation. It was love at first sight. One of the things I really like about Cybertruck is that it doesn't look like a truck. Full size pickups are not the models of elegant design. They're also a bugger to drive and park. The Cybertruck is different. It's a combination of muscular truck in a streamlined, car-like body. It will have the performance of a Tesla along with the off-road capability of a jeep. The all-wheel steering will make maneuvering in parking lots a non-issue. The paintless, stainless steel exterior will defy the bumps of carelessly opened doors and runaway shopping carts. I hope to get my invitation to configure in the next several months. Can't wait.

I once literally had to find my way out of a dense forest on a moonless night with not as much as a cigarette lighter for illumination...nothing. The "trail" that got me there wasn't even detectable in daylight for last mile.

It was more doable than I expected--first while still directionally oriented I picked a segment of the Big Dipper constellation that was aprox aimed where I needed to go, I knew a creek must remain audible not far to my right and that I'd be going downhill until I got to a road. Visually all I could see was stars between the pine tree tops and gaps in that in the canopy eventually marked wider crude Jeep trails. Took a few hrs, expected to trip and fall repeatedly but didn't fall once, biggest fear was a stick in the eye so often moved slow with splayed hand in front of face.

One big surprise was how I could sort of predict the landscape simply from lifelong familiarity of similar scapes tho I'd never been in that particular area before that day.

I hope you’re right. I am certain Tesla will get there with FSD. I doubt an elegant, simpler solution exists in this case. Human driving is socially acceptable chaos.
