I'm owned by a burly black cat named Midnight Louie who was dumped at the side of a busy road at the age of 5-6 months old in his carrier. He's now 7 years old and spoilt rotten.

Pffft. My life. I was doing cat rescue and the shelter closed, and I now have 11 cats/kittens. I will never have a date again...

I love black cats! They always remind me of Neitzsche's quote: When you stare into the abyss long enough that the abyss stares back (paraphrased). Unfortunately there's stigma and superstition attached to black cats. Our local animal shelter won't adopt out black cats in the month before Halloween because, sadly, they found that some people adopt them for not so nice purposes. Sad but true story.

There was a full moon one night and around 15-20 cats laid out in the moonlight and rolled around while meowing, it was such a an experience that I was sold on the mystery of cats.

The glamour model Lucy Pender is a huge cat advocate and publicly speaks about how black cats are just as great of pets as other cats (there is a stigma that they are unlucky or tied to witchcraft).

When she first became a big name around 2006 I emailed her and she responded back to me, I was really surprised!
