Which tires do you prefer, Pirelli or Dunlop and WHY?
Have you tried both? I've ridden both brands A LOT. I'll post my preference after tomorrow's track day.

Started with pirellis, track side vendor switched to dunlop and i coached for them so i got a discount. Decided to race them and get use to them. Loved them. Tried their new sportmax slick tires and riding the same way i did for 2 years on the old series crashed twice in the same weekend losing the front.
I think this has made me lose trust in the tires or something is not the same.
Imma switch back to pirellis and try my luck their never lost the front on a pirelli.

Pirelli. Dunlop closed the tire plant in my hometown (Buffalo, NY) and laid off 1, 500 ppl. Plus my local track switched from Dunlop to Pirelli and Pirelli’s are easier to get.

Pirelli because I like our local trackside support and I know them so well. I previously used DOT race Dunlops, but I have not looked back after using Pirellis 5 years ago.

Michelin. Mainly because I like to fit 200/55’s on the SDR and Pirelli doesn’t offer a 55, only a 60. It rubs the hugger with a 60.

It’s actually question of my life at moment. I’ve used Q3 and Q3 plus for several years, and the Q5s is out of my price range at least for time being. I’m leaning (no pun intended) towards giving PD3 because heard lot of good feedback other than not having best longevity; on that note, I only get to ride few times a month so not overly concerned about that.

I haven’t had the best feeling and confidence on Dunlop, I have liked Pirelli, I’m running them now. So far I like them, and I will be back to Pirelli.

Used to run Dunlop but pirelli I feel has a lot more feed back and quite frankly more grip in my opinion from running both brands.

The engineers that designed my bike designed it to be raced in a championship that runs Pirelli tires. It's obviously possible to run Dunlops but seeing the struggles Warhorse/HSBK have trying to get the Panigale to behave on Dunlops what chance does a random guy without a full race team's budget or connections have with making that work?

I run a sc1 for the front and sc2 for the rear on my s1000rr. Although I’ve ran many different rubbers I always go back to the Perelli’s. The only issue I have is the back gets destroyed faster than the front but that’s to be expected on a 200hp bike.

From what i have rode on id choose pirelli, up to temp really fast and confidence inspiring so can live without the longevity. The dunlops i had were rock hard and nearly tucked the front a few times, granted there are better variants its just what came on my honda at the time so quickly changed to michelin.

Currently I got Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa... And if I'm being completely honest with myself, I can hardly tell the difference between different brands of the same compound.

I love the Pirelli tires. They are super sticky and very durable. What would you pick?

Tbh I've only used q3's and q3+ out of these two. Always got a good deal on dunlops, and they work very well.

Pirelli Diablo Rosso II. Simply because they were homologated for Superstock and I find them very predictable in both wet and dry conditions. Nothing wrong with Dunlop - I just don't want to have to learn a new tyre when what I have works so well.

I have the dunlop q5s and they are great for street and sometimes track havent tried pirelli yet want to in near future tho. And the regular Q5

How would you describe the different between the two? I'm on the pirelli SC3 TD and really do like them. How would you describe the feeling on q5?

Dunlops are superior after 10ish laps, before that Pirellis are superior (especially the front).

Pirelli for me even though they don’t last much
