More Ukrainian soldiers were evacuated from the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol on May 18. Several buses accompanied by Russian military vehicles were seen pulling away from the plant. The fighters who emerged from the ruined plant face an uncertain fate after being ordered by their military to abandon the last stronghold of resistance in the now-flattened port city. It is unclear how many fighters remained inside the plant's labyrinth of tunnels and bunkers, where 2,000 were previously believed to be holed up.

For the few real soldiers they will have some time in a prisoner of war camp and then eventually release. The Azov battalion will probably be trailled as terrorists and possibly live their lives in a gulag. Most are not soldiers in Azovstal, but terrorists.

How is the Ukrainian soldiers fate uncertain? If they are just normal Ukrainian soldiers doing what he was order to do, in some sense he is defending his country, then he should be fairly treated as POW, if Azov or other N-az-is they will face war crime trial for murdering civilians, foreign mercenary should know what they are sign up for.
