This is exactly the car I'd be looking for, unfortunately its not coming here to Canada. We need less Tesla, less self-driving cars, and more Dacia Spring. I never thought I'd see a review where a manual parking brake would be considered a "negative" on a vehicle. We've gotten a bit too lofty with our automobile culture in this world. P.S. this isn't a negative on this review, great job and thanks for the exposure to this car!

Great effort by Dacia and it probably makes the perfect city car or second car if lucky enough to be able to afford one. It would certainly fulfil 95% of my motoring needs. New considerations now coming into play. New budget electric like this or second hand VW ID. Look forward to the full review when you one at home.

Hi i live in france and have the spring since two years its fantastic once you get used to the range limit its actually fun .The range in miles is about 120 - 150 dépends how you drive its not à sports car so 150 miles is double with careful use of the accelerater. On holidays we do about 400 to 500 miles with à full charge before we leave we normally chargé twice on the way adding about 2 ' 2 1/2 hours to the trip ofcourse we need to charge on arrival it does not takeaway from the holiday bob

I believe that ev car's are now going through tuff time, with garages not taken trade in any more., and prices dropping all over Europe.
A lot of uncertainty out there.

Great product and review nobby. The head of dacia has said that all the safety kit like driver assist been forced on car makers by regulations is making there next gen of more expensive and no one wants this in these type of cars.

It's based on the Renault Kwid with a 1.0 litre engine. In India the Renault Kwid 1.0 manual costs 1.47 lakh rupees or about 1, 650 euros. Suddenly, a 45bhp Dacia Spring electric looks expensive at 20k.

You know it's actually called a "hand brake" because you use your hand to engage it. I hate button hand brakes.

Don't think it's price parity per se with a suzuki swift which is more capable but as a cheap second hand ev it will make a great second car for city use, quite cool looking.

If it comes in at £15k in the UK it will be at the same price point as a 3 year old Niro, or Soul, which will still have 4 years warranty left. Plus all the other tech, range and safety equipment as well. Where's your money going to go?

Euro NCAP rating... Highly relevant in the transition period when you'll still be driving on roads, particularly city roads, populated with much heavier and heavily engineered cars with higher NCAP. Will Dacia be doing a "Tuf" ened version with carbon fibre stiffened crumple zones back and front ? Or, after-market protection kit ?

I appreciate the price but cannot overlook the 1 star NCAP safety rating, a backward step. A one year old Renault Zoe could be a better buy.
