Full Episode: China's Economy At Risk?

Marko Papic has a very clear view of Wednesday morning’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on the July U.S. Consumer Price Index: “Getting the inflection in CPI prints is really important,” he says. “So, yes, even a minor decline is relevant.” Papic, a partner and the chief strategist at Clocktower Group, also has a very clear view of the most important factor in the global inflation calculus: crude oil.

“The bottom line is that if oil prices fall further, don’t expect the equity rebound to end. It is all about oil prices at this point.” Papic joins Real Vision’s Andreas Steno Larsen to talk about oil, inflation, and equity markets.

We also hear from David Woo, who compares the China-Taiwan situation to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and offers the following geopolitical marker: “Before the end of August, we will know how the situation in Ukraine is going to play out."

This guy is clearly so pro-china/ccp. He could say China stiring conflicts by constantly sending fighter jets to Taiwaness aerospace daily rather than priorotizing its economic growth.

So what this guy is essentially saying is that countries should do whatever it takes to make the most money for themselves; and if a country chooses to act based on principles or morals, they're irrational and idiotic.

So many words, and so much bluster, while saying so little of any actual substance

It was painful to listen to this guy's pro Russia pro China diatribe - but it is important to listen through and hear alternative views. What strikes me is just how oblivious these commentators are to the views of the leaders of countless nations who were democratically elected and how easy it is for them to brandish all western views as derived from one USA centric hegemon. For example, do the opinion writers from a Finnish or Swedish tabloid suffer from being under the thumb of US propaganda? Why is it that the voice of the people of Taiwan have no say in this person's assessment? Why are World War 2 legacies from China so important to be satisfied - important enough to override the independence movement in a peaceful Taiwan? It's so easy for CPC commentators to say "if you understood the history of Taiwan you would better appreciate how serious this is for the Chinese people"? Yes indeed we understand that Taiwan was once under the control of China and that Taiwan did not participate or share in the evolving history of the "Glorias Revolution" - just as many parts of the Astria-Hungarian and Turkish Empire ceded from central control in history and formed their own path... It's sickening to me to listen to this - but important nonetheless to listen.

So this guys take on the Ukraine conflict aged like milk. Interesting a BoA ex head is so wrong about the international conflict and no China/Russia is not a counter to US naval forces and thus can’t project power beyond their local geographys.

The wheezy laugh... please stop. Also, every time he makes a point and wheeze laughs, the bigger the wheeze, the less true (or at least more debatable) the point is. Worst tell of all time. It gives the whole thing a kind of frantic + fanatical expression.
