Hey I always knew chickens could swim my entire life. Just a few weeks ago I put my self blue old English bantam hen (look up if u don't know what that is) and I put her in a 3 foot deep pool and she swam around the pool like a duck

you absolutely can gently throw a chicken. The chicken will be stressed and you should not do it all the time, but chickens get stressed from passing clouds, slammed doors and just randomly.

As per the other comments, it did look a bit brutal and I wouldn’t treat my hens like that.
But on balance looking at her condition and surroundings she probably lives a charmed life compared to the poor things that suffer factory farming.
Hope she is (or lived) well aside from this.
