The looting was in North East Tampa not all of Tampa. It is documented and was broadcated as such.. I agree with you regarding the Realtor's only mentioning the affluent areas along with the nightlife downtown, beaches in St Petersburg, Clearwater, Manatee County, etc. They are very misleading.

Great video Jose! You are totally right about the riots in 2020. I was living in Temple Terrace off of Fowler by 75. It was unbelievable hearing cop sirens all night while watching the area around University mall be burned down. I am originally from the St Louis area(and am moving back in a few weeks), it certainly made it feel like I brought something that was undesirable down here lol

Me living in Maryland Jose, I would still say even being a metropolitan compared to Baltimore as a city, you’re still safer in Tampa compared to here. They have higher crime, but in the Baltimore area it’s like call of duty up there. I would still take Tampa the metropolitan over Baltimore the city. These cities like Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Philly, and New York, these kids have no regard for human life. It’s not even crime. I call it demonic, savage, and barbaric behavior. Tampa as far as living goes with the crime, beats those cities by far with the Barbaric behavior.

I lived in Tampa for a few years and was living there in 2020. I remember when people went crazy setting buildings on fire, blocking streets, etc. I remember around Hillsborough Ave, the panhandling bums would try to go up to people's cars harassing and threatening them. I liked Tampa but the area has quite a lot of problems. You're probably right that a lot of people don't know what a metro area is and how it differs from an individual city. The Tama Bay metro area has a fairly large population but the city of Tampa itself, not so much. When I lived in Tampa, I was inside the city limits and had no issues but I heard about plenty going on outside of the city limits. Tampa is a good example that things are not always as they seem.

Please keep talking it down, too many moving here and rentals are getting crazy. Too much talk of building "affordable housing" last thing I wanna see is govt getting more involved in the real estate market messing up property values. Growth, but a little slower than what it's been would be great.

Low pay, its a great place if you have means but if not, it can be a challenge.

Every time I go there I know I get scoped for a robbery. It's happened every time I've been there. When we go down that way we scoot through as fast as we can or go around it if we can.
