Shop Hack - DIY Wipe-On Poly

A quick shop tip/hack about how to make your own wipe on poly hand rubbed solution. You just need a few quick tools and an old 1 quart can that is clean.

I use an old gatorade bottle, with the pull flip.. A little squirt and go.. I think a sport bottle will work too😁

how about showing that test board you made? If you really wanted to go wild you could mix a little tung oil in and/or some boiled linseed oil. Using that little pump is absolutely brilliant! It's going to let air in so it's eventually going to get a film on the top but the amount of air would be less. AND, think of little to no mess as you pump out exactly the amount you need?

Have done this several times with great success. The shelf life was not so hot with mine (50/50) mix but I had it in a cheapo dollar store plastic container.

Linn, That is a really cool idea for the Poly-Pump! I've been making my own wipe on poly for years but never thought to make an easy to use container like that. Here all this time I've been mixing it in salsa jars.
