Agreed, the R5 is a fantastic camera. Crazy to hear about people canceling their pre-orders because they let themselves be influenced by a few YouTubers who think the R5 is a cinecam (or really expensive blogging camera). But for the intended audience -- photographers and hybrid shooters -- there's very little to find fault with and it's great to see Canon back in the game. The lens options are second to none -- with the new RF glass or well-adapted EF, and for those who do shoot occasional video (b roll, not small films), it's often overlooked that the R5 is one of the few cameras to offer internal raw recording, which is great for grading.

Just want to say real quick that a canon R5 doesnt make you a GREAT or better photographer. Manny is just amazing at what hes doing. the camera you HAVE is the best Camera. Its about you, your style and knowledge about Photography! Thanks for the review dude. Much love for your work

I can't wait for that comparison video! Eagerly waiting already. My main thing I want to know between both cameras is how well the Dynamic range works as well. How well does it recover HIGHLIGHTS AND SHADOWS? Sony excels in recovering highlights as well. Please please please cover highlights too!

Switched from my Canon 5D iv to Sony 2 years ago. Today I pre ordered the r5. I regret so much selling all my Canon L lenses. Sony did not work for me.

Glad to see fairer vids on the R5 coming out. Not a video shooter, so the overheating issues never mattered to me. But the “shutter” sound effect is a bit jarring.
