Canon EOS R5: 8K 4K 1080 24 30 60 and 120 fps | Footage Samples (Video Test)

I did a video test on the Canon R5 footage to give you video samples in 8k 4k FHD and in various frame rates 24, 30, 60, and 120 fps.

Everything was hand-held so I really work the video IBIS here, especially since I am not a videographer really, so keep in mind that you professionals out there could probably handhold the Canon EOS R5 a little more stable than I can. We were shooting in crazy hot weather as you'll see at the end and the Canon R5 overheating problem didn't occur. Not that it doesn't, but it did not this time.

Hope you get a good idea of the video files that come out of the R5, even though you can't see it in full 8k here, and what c-log (canon log) video looks like compared to a color grade.

Likely need to re-calibrate my display but the color graded appeared pushed on the red side? Other than that, the 4K 120fps is very very good.

I am a Panasonic GH5 user till date, though a great camera it has a very bad autofocus, the way cannon locks to the subject is dope !
Does the eos R5 have IBIS and can it record to an external ssd ?

Hey please share your AF settings for this shoot..my R5 isn't focusing correctly on my subject even on eye and face tracking it loses focus...yours is crispy sharp subject

Do we get real 120 frames in 4k to play with or 4k 120 converted to 30p?

on the 120, I see frame drops. Since I know the R5 captures 120 @ 30fps, if you export it to a 24fps timeine, make sure you reduce the footage speed by 20% (24fps is 80% of 30fps)
