I never even considered a supermoto until cyclecruza built his and I saw how much fun it is. Now I'm waiting a dual sport with a set of sumo wheels I can switch between.

I'm gonna buy these tyres for my wr250r but keep the big wheels, i think that will be best

I built my 2013 WR250R as a supermoto and kept my stock wheels and tires. If I wanna go ride off-road I just swap the wheels out.

for me the most benefit, especially on a tall bike like a 690 or 701 is that the 17 inch front wheel makes the bike quite a bit shorter for not so tall riders. so with knobbly tyres you can get off road, but still have foot-down control - currently have a dr650 and wanting to move to a 690 but its just too tall - think this could be a solution

Cy-cle-Cru-za! The Man of Many Bikes! I was blown away by how that WR250 would pop up... then realized it was the YZF450, lol! That thing is beast!

I like riding a dual sport because I enjoy off-road riding too. I had a CRF 250 Rally but just totaled it in June. I hit a deer doing 60. I tore my rotator cuff and got road rash but can’t wait to get back on a bike! I was thinking of getting a CRF300L because the maintenance is so easy! 8000 mile oil changes. The 450L is like every 600 hours To much work for me.

Cool video. You really don't need a bigger engine than that. I'm thinking about downsizing from my Rebel 1100cc DCT to a smaller Honda CB500 CX. I feel it would be more than enough.
I used to have a CB 300R and it was a lot if fun. I still miss it.

14:06 is that the Harley dealer that said you looked like martian or astronaut or something when you walked in in full gear ?

I think it depends where you live. Here in the PNW dual sports are king. In my backyard is the amazing BDR. The dual sport allows us to briefly ride on the concrete jungle so we can get back into the amazing mountains. But for pavement pushers this will do in a pinch.

I’ve been looking at the Husqvarna FE 501 and 701 models, but I’m a bit confused by what the salespeople told me. They said that the Dual Sport and Super Moto versions are essentially the same bike model, but with different setups—like tires and exhaust systems—but is that really the only difference?

Also, I’m trying to figure out which of these bikes would suit me better. The FE 501 is lighter and more agile, but I was told it requires an oil change every 10 hours of riding. On the other hand, the 701 has a longer frame, a heavier engine, and much longer intervals between oil changes—about every 1000 miles. I’ve heard that the FE 501 is more suited to off-road and trail riding, while the 701 is better for longer trips on the road.

My goal is to have fun exploring the countryside and smaller roads, but not necessarily spend a lot of time on highways. I’ve heard that with the FE 501, I’d have to carry oil with me for long trips since it requires such frequent changes. I’m wondering if that’s a hassle or if it’s just part of the charm of learning to care for the bike.

Since this will be my first bike, I’m not sure which way to go. I love the idea of adventure off the beaten path, but I also want something practical for getting from city to city. Has anyone ridden the FE 501 or 701 and can share some insights? Which bike do you think is better for what I want to do? Thanks!

Switching from a gsxr to a ktm 690 smcr was the best choice I've ever made. Supermoto is life now

This is nice. I have this 250cc Taiwanese Supermoto bike which I replaced its original road tires to dual sport tires. I made it to look like a Motard Adventure Bike🤘🏻
