Sword Experts RECREATE Moves from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance | Experts Try

Today we have two trained swordsmen reacting to and recreating moves from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Find out why technique and control are a must when it comes to not slicing your own neck and why slapping swords are just not practical in a fight. In 2013 PlatinumGames and Konami Digital Entertainment released Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, a hack and slash action game. The gameplay focuses on fighting enemies with a sword, other weapons, and combos to perform counterattacks and combos in the game. Players control Raiden, a cyborg operating against the Desperado Enforcement corporation. Raiden can steal parts from cyborgs and cut them in slow motion with Blade Mode. For a reduced combat experience, even the series' standard stealth elements can be disabled.

I think Sam's move set would be more fun for them to re-create since Sam's moves are inspired by Japanese swordsmanship.

I'm the guy that recorded the gameplay for both Raiden and Sam :). I thought I'd share some insights on Raiden's light attack. The light attack is a continuous chain of random animations so I just kept swinging as a truck load of them exist. They can also vary if the player changes direction during a combination Raiden will too use a random attack. This is also true when attacking an enemy out of range, Raiden will perform a different attack to close the distance. Thanks for using my footage.

God, I love my reaction to these as they provided commentary. The entire time I was like "Oh wow, these were actually really cool. These were some good recreations" while they talked about how awful they did it, how sloppy they looked, and how they could have done way better

You said Raiden "magically attaches that sword to his foot, " and it does kinda look like that at full speed, but if you slow it down, you can see they actually put him dropping the sword and grabbing it with his foot in the animation. Cool!

It's kind of a weird pick they used Raiden instead of Sam to recreate since Sam was more grounded in terms of sword techniques than Raiden is.

Actually raiden wears high heels so that he can “attach” the blade to his foot. To me it seems like there is some mechanism in the heels that locks the blade to the foot so that he can slash with his foot

Btw, Vergil is Dante's brother, you know from the Devil May Cry series.
