The BIZARRE Portal Beta Crosshairs

In my last short, a lot of people mentioned that they prefer the Portal 2 crosshair over the Portal 1 one, which I found very interesting. Regardless, there are other crosshairs across Portal history than just the retail Portal 1 and Portal 2 ones, and in this video I talk a little bit about what makes them so cursed.

I'm not sure why they went with that for the Portal 2 beta when the light on the portal gun already shows you the last portal that you placed

Having the last portal light up is way more useful than having the portals that are already placed light up. There are many times where you have two portals placed and need to place one specific one, and being able to know which one would kinda help with that

I love that in Portal: Revolution, you can change between the Portal 1 and 2 cross hair.

Hot-take. I love the portal 2 beta croshair as an idea. Im so glad it was adapted into the light-bar colour for psmove, DS4 and Deulsence controllers. The amount of times ive forgotten what way round my portals where and have looked at my controller is consirning

I feel the portal 2 crosshair for the full game is actually perfect. Shows the portals while making a portal

I see people saying the corsshair that shows you the last portal made was the best and and the worst. Goes to show you cant please everyone

Honestly, I prefer the P2 beta crosshair. Knowing which portal I used last would actually help me a lot during the game.

The crosshair is actually very useful.
It tells you what the last portal you placed was, so you don't accidentally place it again and lose your original placement, and it tells you if you lost a portal (which can happen).

The old Portal crosshair WAS supposed to look like the half life 2 crosshair to make it look more futuristic. And with the Portal 2 crosshair, I use it because goldfish memory.

The crosshair in the beta goes up only slightly when you are facing an object you could shoot a portal on if it was bigger or flat enough to put a portal on

I think that that the fill up crosshair is a how close you are to a portable surface
