I think that every artist has the urge to work on their art until it's as good as they imagined it could be. It's the old Leonardo da Vinci quote: "Art is never finished, only abandoned." So I guess prolific artists are just REALLY good at giving up. That said, I'm so happy with how this song turned out...I love the chord progression in the verse. I'm happy with the bass line I wrote and how it plays with the vocal melody and harmonies. Jack used completely new plugins and mixing techniques, so the bass and drums sound really unique. And can I just say...Brian on guitar. Holy shit. That guitar part MAKES the song.

Driving home from work, I was talking to my wife about how I keep going back and forth. At times I feel like the song I’ve been working on is the best I’ve ever written, and then hours later, the worst I’ve ever written.
Then I get home and hear this new song, and it feels like you’re talking directly to me. Thanks Nat, Jack, and all the rest of you. This has helped get my head straight.

Also I enjoy the 60s beach boys/West coast vibes this happy sounding song has with serious lyrics. My favorite kind of songs because they catch you off guard.
