was looking forward to Jack yelling "LET'S BUST SOME KNEECAPS" and was not disappointed

I like to imagine that after five years of physical therapy and recovery, Johnny is getting his kneecaps busted all over again.

Great respect for Nataly to sing so well while playing bass

This would make a great home alarm song. Can you imagine how creeped out and terrified burglars would be?

5 years later:

Johnny: *crawling on the ground, all bruised and bloody* hey, ma...guess who I ran into..

This is my FAVORITE Pomplamoose original.  Occasionally I find myself humming it much to the confusion of my family (out of context it can be jarring :) )

I feel like this was one of the tracks that benefited most from being played by a live band, I love this version so much. Dare I say better than the original? :o

I liked the original version of the song until now.The 'whole band' in the room, single take effect is SO much better. I just love the way Nat's voice has matured over the last few years. You guys ever gonn show on the east coast?

I love how she says "SMART" in a deadpan way, veiling a threat.

I found this live recording back in 2020… I was living peak life, I had just applied for a promotion at my longtime job, got the position, adopted two kittens, and all was well. I can still feel the warmth of that late Spring air. I went to Hawaii that summer. Then, my grandmother (raised me as her own) got leukemia, passed away. I got attacked at work & was hospitalized (law enforcement.) I got out of the hospital and started having seizures- too this day, nonetheless. I lost my job. My grandmother died. My entire life fell apart, and I’m still trying put the pieces together all these years later…

This version of this song takes me back to a very magical time of my life. I hope you guys never take this version down.

Thanks for the memories. :)

Johnny, don't leave me
You said you'd love me forever
Honey, believe me
I'll have your heart on a platter
Might you recall
We've got a small family business
And the family won't like this
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
Johnny, you told me
You were no fool, you were no chump
Then you got cold feet
Now all you'll be is a speed bump
It's something we call
Oh, just a small family business
And the family won't like this
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
That's what they're going to do
Johnny, there's still time
Together I know, we'd go so far
I'll tell uncle Rocco
To call off the guys with the crowbars
You call it crime
We call it smart family business
And the family is famous
Bust your knee caps
Bust your knee caps
It's such a shame
That you became such an issue
Oh dear Johnny, I'll miss you
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
That's what they're going to do
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh wop de do wop de do
They'll bust your knee caps
Ooh yeah they're coming for you
Bust your knee caps
Ooh, bust your knee caps
Bust your knee caps
Ooh, bust your knee caps

You guys make this elderly gentleman real proud of you younger folks. I like your sound and how you do things, and also for your use of old tunes, like this one, BUST YOUR KNEECAPS. WHAT AN OLDIE! But, anyway, you shown your granny, also, (in another video) so I really believe youse nose about the real family bizness. Thank you so much! Big Smile!
