My daughter is a PhD in the biological sciences, and I have had the fun of speaking with some of her mentors and teachers over the years. Not a one of them sounded like a strident mouth breathing nutcase. Every conversation was orderly and there were no unsupported assertions.
How the hell are Matt and Eric supposed to comment on something that they have not seen? Why the yelling? I am going to go out on a limb here and say that she has probably cornered other people with this crap, and gotten short shrift. She was getting desperate for validation, and lost whatever cool she might have once possessed.
