Dallas Fire-Rescue crews are battling a two-alarm fire at the First Baptist Dallas Historic Sanctuary in Downtown Dallas.

Crews were called to the church just after 6 p.m ET.

First Baptist Dallas was started in 1868, but the red brick building, known as the historic sanctuary was not built until 1890, according to Texas Historic Commission. It is the only downtown Dallas Church still on its original site. The church received a historical marker in 1968.

I cannot Being one of these firefighters in all that heavy hot gear in Dallas in the summer. It has been so hot outside and their humidity is insane. Thank you God for these firefighters and keep them safe along with all the other first responders. 🙏♥️🙏

Aww…that was sad when Pastor Jeffress became emotional there, but as always, he then verbalized the perfect perspective on the fire and the church. I respect him so much, and he is as genuine as they come. Bless the pastor and all the members in this sad time, but thankfully there were no injuries.
