I heard there seem to be a lot of issues with the 2015 - 2019 TDV6 engines on those XJs. Oil dilution due to too often DPF active regens. Anyone had that issue or knows more? Many thanks in advance!

Just sold my 23 Tesla Model S and bought a 19 Jag XJL V8 Supercharged. Never again with the crap Tesla puts out. Completely died and coasted to a stop on the road and no hope to restart it. Took 3 weeks for Tesla to fix. Found out this failure on new Tesla’s is common. The Jag is amazing and they have never let me down like that! Plus, the $100k Tesla is like a Ford Panda compared to the Jag in the luxury department.

I had my XJ(2014) for the last 6 years...and is the best car I have ever driven. No major issues. I will get the model after 2015 soon and I hope I won't be disappointed.

Had mine since 2011 - done 200, 000 miles - currently does 47mpg at a stately 67mph ... had various issues mainly around plastic components failing - ie the valve covers and intercooler ducting. Had a warranty replacement of the gearbox at 19, 000 miles - all in all - still a lovely car - not worth much now but I figure I have had my monies worth

I just found your channel because my friend is browsing cars to buy and he saw an XJ for sale and asked my opinion in it, and I had the very same feeling you did toward the end of the video. XJ it’s in a class of it’s own, I always had a weak heart for Jags, and the XJ IS the reason why. I loved that you kept so professional the whole video, but towards the end you showed your true car lover side by admitting what a legend this beautiful car was. Thank you. It was exactly the kind of farewell I was expecting someone would do. You got a new subscriber, and I hope your channels grows as fast as our love for cars grows every day! Success 🎉

Have a 2017 3.0 XJ… bought new now has 60, 000 miles… drives like new and I have had ZERO issues with the car. 5, 000 mile oil changes… super reliable so far.

Lucky enough to have bought a XJR 575 in January this year. Absolutely loving the car: Grace, pace and space - in buckets!!

Great video, I am on my 11th XJ at the moment, I still have my 2004 SWB Super v8 but I also have a 2015 LWB Portfolio 3.0 diesel. 32 years ago I got my first jaguar, a 1984 4.2 Sovereign, then over the years followed a 1988 3.6 Sov, a 1990 4.0 Sov, a 1994 3.2 Sov, a 1998 4.0 Sov, a 2000 4.0 Sov ( ex AA chairmans car and fully loaded, 2 phones, sat nav, and rare CAT's suspension etc etc, then followed a 2003 3.5 SE, then added a 2011 LWB luxury ( my first and last ever brand new car ), then changed the SE for the 2004 Super V8 and then got the 2015 LWB after a drunk wrote off my 2011 one. A long time Jaguar owner and really will miss the fact they are not bringing out another model.

My 2012 XJL 5.0 supercharged has 140kmiles, and the only major expense has been the high pressure fuel pumps failing at 90k miles. Engine mounts replaced at 110k. Still feels every bit as powerful as new.

Great review and after having jags for 40 years it’s still a fantastic car for me and my 2015 still turns heads

I fell in love when I saw an XJ first. Not many on the roads which makes it super unique. Then I saw the facelift model with JJ front headlamps which made a huge difference. Now I’m driving an XJL with all the extras. Really nice to drive with the ACC on! I can almost sleep whilst driving 🤪

Too many Audis and BMWs out there.

I have owned a Jaguar XJ Autobiography X351 from brand new Dec 2017 to date. 50K miles - only issues - replaced offside rear wheel bearing and hub + DPF issue as showing as blocked - issue resolved. That's it other than new discs and pads. The car is 100% reliable and as it's the 3.0 diesel the economy is 2nd to none.

Clock springs and soft close doors are common issues on XJ X351. Love the car so much, I'm okay with those issues. Replaced the clock spring myself the last time too.

Another one to look out for is oil leak from around vacuum pump. I'm having mine done as I write this!

Very informative video! I own a 2015 Jaguar XJ and love everything about it. A shame that Jaguar discontinued the XJ.

Had the XJ 2.0 for 5 years, my 2L petrol engine doesn't hold up well, leaks and sensor failures pop up from time to time. Apart from the engine specific problems, suspension bushings replaced at low mileage and air suspension airbag popped at the 98, 000km mark. These old cats costs some money to keep, but its always lovely to own a big

I appreciate this car, but it was the beginning of the end for Jaguar styling. The Bertone concept was so pretty
