BLOOD TIME LAPSE - 8K MACRO

I used a diabetes lancet to get a drop of blood, and started to film it right away, unlike last time, when I purchased the blood from the butcher. This video also higher macro magnification than my last blood time lapse.

I always leave a fun fact in the description, do you read them every time?
The human body has around 0.2 milligrams of gold, most of which is in our blood. But don't get any ideas; that's about 1.23 U.S. cents worth at current prices. (1915 USD/oz or 61583 USD/kg)

Blood time lapse.

Another week, another time lapse. Let me know your thoughts on macro time lapses. Should I post more of them, or stick to the regular non-macro ones? If this video gets a good reception (so don't forget to hit that like button on the video, if you're interested), I'll be at ease investing in a high-quality macro lens. This drop of blood was already pushing the limits of my current one.

This footage itself is a demonstration of nature’s genius at work. The blood is a perfectly designed tissue, optimised to transport oxygen, nutrients and other elements to nourish the organs ; as well as it is optimised to react when stagnating and thus stop a bleeding.

My uncle has diabetes and he used a needle like that for so long that it got nearly impossible to get blood out of his fingertips because of how thick and hard the skin got

I’m a germaphobe bordering OCD. I have no idea why but I’m obsessed with these videos. It’s like watching my worst nightmare without the added anxiety lol

You should try doing this with the blood drop on a glass slide (or other similar surface)!!
when it dries, you get a really cool dendritic pattern!

The cracks forming on the surface are so fascinating!

It would’ve interesting to compare the drying and contracting of blood on a non-porous surface. Behaves differently.

This was actually really cool.
I could easily imagine this being used for a music video.

incredible! i've never seen anything like this, documenting how blood works. is this showing clotting, or just drying up? 🤔

watching this video made me realise how devastatingly dehydrated I was. (blood would instantly dry, average cut takes like max 1 minute to dry, even deep ones, some wouldn't even bleed at all) thanks for the amazing timelapse!
