He talked about everything except how Russia really
won World War 2.

Anyone that ever took a good history course in high school knows Russia won WW2. That does not at all take away from what our soldiers and citizens did during WW2 neither of us would have won the war without each other!

If Germany kept its pact and didn’t invade Russia, I fear it would have been a completely different outcome.

The American ruling class has always been envious of the fact that Russia really was the country who saved Europe through the great sacrifice it made and defending their home and driving the enemy back to its home and grinding the engine to a halt, thats some badass stuff and Russia deserves its flowers. The Allies kicked ass too but its a mistake to ignore what the Russians did because it was the most significant thing regardless of what anyone says

I think also a better way to understand WW2 in this basic statement would be that Germany perhaps wouldnt have been stopped in Europe had it not been for Russia, and perhaps Japan wouldnt have been stopped in the Pacific had it not been for Americans. This is an extremely shallow understanding of a much more complex issue however.

At what point in the video did he explain how Russia won ww2? Are we watching the same video?

We need to focus on being internally better more than being absolutely dominant

In Canada, here was the truth (which Oliver Stones) point out about the ''greatest generation' ... they came back, and they were drunk all the time... Manufacturing, Offices everyone was drinking on the job, at home, drinking alone in a corner with a rocking chair IF you were lucky, otherwise it was the angry-drunk. The veterans came back and were traumatized, we did everything to reinsert them in life and let them drink their sorrow away... The kids of these veterans grew up ''Fatherless'' and revolted with the ''sexual revolution and the hippies days'' (due to the lack of fathers, and the technological concraptive)... Btw, when i mean ''fatherless'' i dont mean the dad wasn't present... I mean he was present but wasn't ''here'' they were always over there... he was a hole and that left a emotional imprint on the kids.

It was the SOVIET UNION and not Russia. Millions of Ukrainians, Belarussians, Kazakhs and so many other ethinicities fought in the war

I love Oliver Stone but he could have approached this a little differently. It is pretty misleading that the Americans won the war all alone, it was a team effort. It was our greatest generation. What he should’ve said is that the Soviets didn’t get the credit that they deserved.

As a Canadian I knew the Soviet Union had a bigger hand in winning WWII than the US

They're not the greatest generation because of the war, they're the greatest generation for their individual valor regardless of what war or who gave the orders.

He didn’t explain how russia won tho, but he made complete sense at the end

He's wrong. WW2 was also about supplying ally countries, which also included Russia. The war was Not won by Russia, but by all the ally forces. Stone's admiration for all things communist seems pretty naive. He should look at Stalin's atrocities in the Gulag to mention a few evils about his love of communist dictators.

Victor David Hanson is THE expert on WW2. Every country came out of it worse except the US. Who won it? Let's be honest, it was a team effort.

What I respect about Stone is that he does not have Western blinders on at all times. He seeks to understand the perspectives and realities of other countries, cultures and alliances!

He said nothing about Russia !!!! Clickbait alert 🚨

Why everyone keep calling Soviet Union "Russia", " Russia" didn't exist at that point. What, you afraid you say/write Soviet Union three time in a row and will magically come back to life? If only...

Soviet Union, Soviet Union, Soviet Union.

ever forget the Soviets destroyed over 75% Wehrmacht and were fighting three years before the U.S. entered the Great War. Joseph Stalin the poor son of a cobbler from Gori, seized Berlin and won WW2! If not for the Soviets the entire world would be speaking German!

China is probably the most forgotten ally of ww2. It was in a situation where from 1937 onward, it was sustaining over 1, 000 deaths a day as a nation, but was still killing 100 Japanese soldiers everyday, from 1937 until the end of the war. That's not a minor contribution. That's China inflicting 3 times more loss on Japan, in terms of personnel, than Vietnam did to America in the Vietnam war. The only reason why it is not seen as a major contributor is because of the communists, and.... it was fighting on it's back foot for most of the war. It was, none the less, a major contributor as well.
