Statistics 101: A Class Preview

I am not a statistician, and don't aspire to be one, but I work in corporate finance, investing and valuation, and statistics is not only a necessary tool to work with the data that I have, but a knowledge of its precepts is a prerequisite to navigate your way through a world where opinions are presented as facts, and data is often used in misleading ways to sell snake oil investment strategies and schemes. In this class, I take what I have learned about statistics, which is not much and often the hard way, and present it in a 13-session class, with the focus primarily on applications in investing and corporate finance. With each session, you can download the slides, and test yourself with a post-class test (with solutions).

I took Stats 1000 at the University of Pittsburgh in 2005 so I could get into Pharmacy school, certain I would use it very little. 20 years later, I'm no longer a pharmacist but very much an investor, and I DESPERATELY need my statistics!
