Since the 4080 super and 3080ti has the same CUDA core count I decided to underclock it. So, I noticed that if I underclock my 4080 super to 3080ti levels it in rasterization preforms no different than the 3080ti I once had in benchmarks. You should test this with yours. Think there is no IPC gains from cross generations besides clock speed lol. But the 4080 super becomes an extremely efficient 3080ti that pulls 3060ti power.

I wonder if I should get the 4080S coming from a 3080Ti or wait for the 5080 later this year? I have a 5800X3D with 32GB 3800MHz DDR4 CL16 and all Gen4 SSDs.

3080 to 4080 super is the only move that makes sense. 50%+ performance increase at about a $400 upgrade cost.

I can get 3080 ti for 475E, model is EVGA FTW 3 ultra and entry level models of 4080 super are ~1030 euros, so basically 36% better performance at 2k for 216% more money, definitely skipping 40 series, just way too overpriced, prolly gonna wait for used 40 series gpus cuz I doubt 50 series is gonna be affordable either, there are rumours that 5090 is gonna be ~2k, so yea we are looking at 2.5k+ considering that all gpus went up in price after release.

14900k, 64gb ram DDR5 5600 and 3080TI, Last of Us run smooth and stable in 4k 90fps, the same with other games, i dont think this numbers are right, i dont know...

coming from a t 3080ti its a save bet to reach consistent 240fps with the new 5080 card.

This benchmark looks pretty rigged, i own a 3080 Ti myself and upgraded recently to the 4080 Super, in 1080p i didnt notice much difference but in 4k it was a good 20-30% depends on the game (Tested with my brand new 9800X3D). As i bought the 4080 Super with a extended right to return (210 days instead of 30days in my country) I will just return it when the 50xx series come out and get myself the 5080 or the 5070 depends on the launch price.

Wait for 5080-5090 no idea buy 4080 if you have 3080ti or 3080. then you get an upgrade of 50%-80% so wait to buy.;)
