48% faster and 71% costlier? No thanks. Gen on gen upgrades are usually 30-40% faster at the same cost. So this is actually a huge regression in value.

Nice numbers for 4080. Shame one has to pay 70 percent more for the 4080 over the 3080, with only 50 percent more performance.

The 4080 is a great card. The price is just wrong. It should sell for about $899 USD, seeing how it surpasses the 3090. A next gen XX80 card matches the previous XX90 or Titan. So in that scenario $699 makes sense. But here it jumps almost 2 tiers ahead.

i still cant fathom how most gamers are okay with the subtle price hike in phones and GPUs. since when has it been acceptable paying 1200 for a gpu? $699 usez to be the sweet spot and affordable for most people. they are killing pc gaming with these insane price hikes

Just got an Asus Tuf Gaming 4080 OC for $1, 200.00. The reference card should be $999, 99.

The RTX 3080 was released with a price list of 699€ and RTX 4080 for 1599! I personally would wait for AMD to release their cards and went with them. Nvidia prices are through the roof. Couple of years ago you could have a very good PC for gaming for the price of ONE 4080. You can buy used 3070/3080 now for a really good price with a warranty.

You're better off buying an overclocked AIB Partner 3090/3090ti. There's plenty used ones, but then again when you look at its performance against a 6950XT compared to the prices its hard to say.

Copped a 3090 from a friend for 650$, it’s a banger for 1440p 240hz high-ultra settings
4080 should have been max 900$

So basically 1% of performance for 1% more cost. That to me sounds like quite bad deal.
