I'm loving the power draws and temps from the 4070. I think it will be the card for me once it eventually drops to a sensible price but going to hold off for now.

those temps on the 3080 are crazy....more than double and probably the best take away for why getting the rtx 4070 is worth it

Difference in the power consumption is HUGE! 4070 is basically half the 3080.

So the RTX 3080 gives more FPS than the 4070 in 4K! Wow. My RTX 3080 actually handles itself quite well in all the modern AAA games I throw at it now, I don't see any reason to upgrade at this point.

I think the 3080 might have an edge when it comes to rendering to very large buffers, like those needed for 4k or PCVR.
I have a 3080, so I'm waiting for a 5080 or a 6070, assuming their rasterization power is at least 100% faster and don't require running stronger lines for the outlets...
If NVidia doesn't increase rasterization speed much but tries to tout later versions of DLSS or AI, I probably won't bother.

This right here just solidifies the fact that Nvidia is no longer selling an actual performance, but rather power efficiency & temperatures. Gotta wait until 5000 series hit the shelves to purchase the 4000 and leave it at that till the end of the decade, I suppose

If you have a 3080 or 3070 dont upgrade.
If you have a 2080 or older, might be worth upgrading to a 4070 if you can get a card around $500 with 12 gigs.
otherwise stay with your current 3000 series card until the 5000 series or go radeon.

In the next tests, please remove all indicators to the corner of the screens. I would like to see not only numbers, but maybe differences in detail drawing, lighting and so on.
